Positive Objectives to be used in goal setting contain three components:

  • a "positive" action verb
  • a "positive" object
  • clarifying information

Practice Writing Examples of Clarified Objectives
Remember to use "positive" action verbs and objects rather than negative ones. For example, use "increase safety" rather than "decrease accidents." Or, "increase responsiveness" rather than "reduce response time."
